Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through ArshCPA.com and the website features used to contact or schedule with AR Accounting Company. It also describes how AR Accounting Company uses Microsoft Bookings and the secure document-transfer process used for confidential files. Separate engagement letters, client agreements, or service-specific notices may provide additional terms for clients who engage AR Accounting Company.

Information you choose to provide

Website messages. When you use a Send a Message form, the information provided may include your first and last name, phone number, email address, optional company name, and the contents of your message.

Microsoft Bookings. When you schedule an appointment, information may include your name, email address, phone number, optional address, selected appointment type, requested date and time, whether you prefer a Microsoft Teams meeting or telephone call, and information you choose to enter in appointment questions or notes. Depending on the appointment type, those questions may ask what you would like to discuss or whether there is anything you would like me to know before the meeting.

Secure document transfer. When you use the approved secure document-transfer portal, AR Accounting Company may receive documents and information you intentionally upload. Those files may contain confidential tax, financial, identity, payroll, business, or other information needed to evaluate or perform requested professional services.

Pro Bono applications. When you apply through the Pro Bono form, the information provided may include your name, email address, phone number, whether you are applying as an individual, nonprofit organization, or small business, any organization name, your state, the type of help requested, a description of what you need, and why you are requesting pro bono assistance. Applications are used only to evaluate the request and, if it is selected, to contact you.

Direct communications. If you contact me by email, telephone, Microsoft Teams, or another approved method, I may receive the contact information and content you choose to provide.

Information generated when you use the website

The website host, security providers, and embedded service providers may automatically process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect their services, such as Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser or device information, request timestamps, pages requested, security events, and error logs. Website analytics are described below. The public website does not use submitted inquiry information for behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. Embedded third-party services, including Microsoft Bookings, may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies.

Approximate location for the Resource Center. To show state-specific resources first, the Resource Center asks Cloudflare for the U.S. state associated with your connection. This is a coarse estimate derived from your IP address by Cloudflare as part of delivering the request; the website receives only a country and state code, does not request your device's precise location, and does not log or store the result. If the state cannot be determined, New York resources are shown. You can choose a different state at any time.

Local browser storage. If you choose a state yourself, the Resource Center saves that choice in your browser's local storage so it can be restored when you return. It is not used to identify you or for advertising. You can remove it by clearing this site's browser data.

Website analytics

AR Accounting Company uses website analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used, such as which pages are visited, how visitors arrive at the site, general device and browser types, and approximate geographic region. This information is used to maintain and improve the website.

Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views and site performance without using cookies or local storage to track individual visitors.

Google Analytics. The website uses Google Analytics 4, which sets first-party cookies and collects usage information such as pages viewed, interactions, referring site, device and browser information, and approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. AR Accounting Company does not enable Google advertising features, does not use analytics data for advertising or remarketing, and does not send names, email addresses, form contents, or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics. Google processes this information under its own privacy terms. You can limit Google Analytics by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

How information is used

Information may be used to respond to an inquiry; contact a prospective or existing client; schedule, confirm, reschedule, or conduct a meeting; prepare for a requested consultation; understand the general subject a visitor would like to discuss; determine whether and how I may be able to assist; provide professional services after an engagement is accepted; operate and secure the website and business systems; maintain appropriate business records; prevent misuse; and comply with applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or professional obligations.

Communications

When you submit a message or request an appointment, you are asking me to contact you about that request. I may respond using the phone number, email address, Microsoft Teams meeting, or other contact method associated with your submission. Submission of an inquiry or booking is not consent to unrelated marketing communications, and AR Accounting Company does not currently use these submissions for unrelated promotional campaigns.

Microsoft Bookings

AR Accounting Company uses Microsoft Bookings, a Microsoft 365 service, to provide appointment scheduling. Microsoft may process information entered on the booking page in order to provide scheduling, calendar, email, verification, and Microsoft Teams functionality. Microsoft may send booking confirmations, reminders, updates, or a one-time verification code when that feature is enabled. Microsoft processes information through its own systems and under its applicable privacy and service terms.

Secure document transfer

Confidential documents should be sent only through the approved secure transfer method. Information submitted through that portal may be used to evaluate requested services, prepare for an engagement, or provide services after I accept the engagement. Do not use an ordinary website message or appointment note as a substitute for the secure document-transfer portal. The secure document-transfer portal is the Financial Cents client portal, operated by Financial Cents, a third-party provider engaged by AR Accounting Company. Clients sign in with their email address using a one-time sign-in link and verification code. Financial Cents processes uploaded files only as needed to provide that service and under its own security and privacy terms.

Service providers and disclosures

AR Accounting Company may use service providers to host, deliver, and secure the website, provide email and communications, operate Microsoft Bookings and Microsoft 365, and provide secure file-transfer or other business technology. This includes Cloudflare, which hosts the website, processes website form submissions and delivers them by email, provides the approximate state used by the Resource Center, provides cookieless website analytics, and helps deliver, route, and protect website traffic and may process limited technical information such as IP addresses, request information, browser or device information, and security logs as needed to provide its services. Google provides website analytics as described above. Financial Cents, which operates the secure client portal, and other service providers may likewise process information as needed to provide their services. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, professional obligations, protect rights or security, or respond to suspected fraud or misuse.

Sale of personal information and advertising

AR Accounting Company does not sell or rent personal information submitted through the website, Microsoft Bookings, or the secure document-transfer process. The current public website is not intended to use submitted inquiry or booking information to create advertising profiles or for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention

Prospective-client inquiries and appointment information may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to respond, schedule or conduct meetings, determine whether services will be provided, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, protect the business and its clients, or meet legal or professional requirements. If you become a client, information and documents may be retained for the period required or appropriate for the services performed and applicable professional record-retention obligations. Information that is no longer reasonably needed should be deleted or securely disposed of when appropriate.

Security

AR Accounting Company uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information handled through its systems. No website, email system, scheduling platform, file-transfer service, or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Visitors and clients are responsible for using the approved secure transfer method when sending confidential documents.

Your choices and requests

You may contact me to ask about information you previously submitted through the public website or scheduling process, or to request that contact information be corrected or deleted. Some information may need to be retained when required by law, professional standards, security needs, recordkeeping obligations, or an applicable client engagement.

Social media

The website links to AR Accounting Company pages on social media and business platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Google Business Profile. These are links, not embedded tracking tools. When you visit or interact with those platforms, including following, commenting, reviewing, or sending a direct message, the platform operator collects and uses information under its own privacy policy, and your public interactions may be visible to others. Please do not send confidential tax or financial information through social media.

External links

The Resource Center and other pages may link to federal, state, local, Microsoft, or other third-party websites and services. Those services operate independently and have their own terms, privacy, and security practices. A link or embedded service does not make AR Accounting Company responsible for another provider's content, availability, or privacy practices.

Children

This website and the professional services offered through AR Accounting Company are not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13 through the public website.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the website, services, technology providers, or legal requirements change. The “last updated” date shown at the top identifies the current published version.
